With the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup, LASK will kick off their competitive matches for the new season on the last weekend of July. As the draw on Monday afternoon revealed, the athletes will face Union Gurten away in the Upper Austrian derby.

The Innviertler have been part of the Regionalliga Mitte since the 2014/15 season and finished the previous season as runners-up behind the promoted Voitsberg. Gurten's best result in the ÖFB Cup is reaching the round of 16 in the 2019/20 season.

The match is scheduled for the 26th of July (6.00 p.m.) at Klaus-Roitinger-Stadium in Ried.

In the past six years, LASK has consistently reached the quarterfinals of the ÖFB Cup, making it to the semifinals twice and the final once. Last season, the team advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition.

We have been drawn against a strong opponent in Union Gurten, who will challenge us right from the start of the season in this derby. Our goal is to start with a good performance and advance to the next round. We aim to be successful in all competitions, so this is a very important match for us.
