Thrilling Finish: Entrup Fires LASK to Late Victory
What an ending! Up until the 90th minute, LASK was facing defeat in their away game against SCR Altach, until Maximilian Entrup stepped up in a big way: with a brace in the 90th and 94th minutes, the forward turned the game around in favor of the Linz team, securing a 2-1 victory and three crucial points in their fight for a top-six spot.
In their seventh competitive match in three weeks, LASK coach Markus Schopp made three changes to the starting lineup: Florian Flecker took on the role of right-back, while Adil Taoui and Maximilian Entrup were brought into the squad. Just three minutes in, the Athletiker once again demonstrated the danger they've posed from set pieces in recent weeks. Philipp Ziereis found himself completely unmarked after a corner, but he couldn’t make solid contact to direct the ball towards the goal.
LASK then focused on gaining control of the game but struggled against an opponent who defended intensively, with too many inaccuracies and poor decisions, especially as they moved into the final third. Nonetheless, the few scoring opportunities all took place in Altach’s penalty area: Entrup, following a pass from Flecker, failed to beat Altach’s keeper, Dejan Stojanovic, with a quick turn (18th minute). Another header from Ziereis missed its target by a considerable margin (19th minute), and a shot from Jovicic, seven minutes before halftime, also went wide.
Entrup Brace: LASK Turns Game Around Late
The second half brought changes in personnel, but initially no impact on the scoreboard. Although head coach Schopp brought on Filip Stojkovic, and around the hour mark introduced attackers Valon Berisha and Marin Ljubicic, LASK continued to struggle to create chances in a largely uneventful match, failing to produce any noteworthy shots. The same was true for the home team for a long time, but in the 65th minute, they managed to take the lead: after Jörg Siebenhandl punched the ball out, Lukas Fadinger fired a shot that Pascal Estrada deflected into the net with his heel—Altach's first goal against LASK at Schnabelholz in six games.
Determined to avoid their first-ever Bundesliga loss in Altach, LASK intensified their offensive efforts. Flecker, now in a more advanced role, cut inside and tried his luck with his right foot, signaling their push. Seven minutes before the end, Entrup attempted a direct shot, but Stojanovic was ready to block it. Entrup did even better in the 90th minute: after receiving a pass from Bogarde, the summer signing fought his way through the box and scored the equalizer. But he wasn’t finished—four minutes into stoppage time, he struck again. After an assist from Ljubicic, Entrup found himself one-on-one with Stojanovic, kept his cool, and fired in the winning goal to make it 2-1! This marked his fourth goal of the season and capped off a thrilling finish, allowing LASK to maintain their unbeaten record in 14 Bundesliga away games against Altach.

Emotionally, it’s something really special that we managed to turn the game around so late. We actually started the game well but failed to punish the opponent early on and then lost our rhythm. During a brief period of pressure from Altach, we conceded the goal. In the end, these are three very valuable points; it was extremely important to secure a full win before the international break.
