LASK was founded in 1899 by Albert Siems under the name of Linzer-Athletik-Sportklub
"Siegfried". At the beginning it focused on strength training using rings, weightlifting and the
like. 1908 the first football game was played as a "Linzer Sportklub", so LSK for short was
founded. In 1919, "LSK" finally became the club's name, and still exists today as LASK.
