LASK Strengthens Squad with Forward from MLS
LASK is strengthening its squad with reinforcement from the USA: Forward Samuel Adeniran is joining the Athletikers from MLS club Philadelphia Union. The transfer was already finalized last summer, and Adeniran will join LASK in January. The 26-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the Upper Austrians until May 31, 2028.
The American forward from Houston began his youth development at institutions including the Liverpool FC Foundation College, now the Steven Gerrard Academy. His next steps took him to Portugal with Belenenses Lisbon, followed by stints in Spain and Germany, before returning to his homeland. In July 2021, Adeniran made his debut in Major League Soccer, and since then, he has made 46 appearances in the top-tier American league for Seattle Sounders, St. Louis City, and Philadelphia, scoring ten goals. In the USL Championship, Adeniran scored 27 goals in 57 matches.
As agreed last July, the 1.93-meter tall forward is now joining LASK as planned at the start of the winter transfer period. He is expected to strengthen the Athletikers' attack, especially with his physical presence. The contract with Adeniran runs until May 31, 2028.

Although the signing was already finalized before my appointment, I am very pleased with the transfer of Samuel Adeniran. He brings a very exciting profile and can add important attributes to our game with his strengths and physicality.
