The inaugural winner has been determined: With a 4-0 victory in the final over Molto Luce, premium partner Aspöck Systems was crowned the winner of the first edition of the Upper Austria Business Cup. 1,120 guests at the Raiffeisen Arena witnessed a thoroughly successful event featuring ten of LASK's sponsors and partners, where the charitable cause was the main focus.

With six wins from six games, 22 goals, and only one conceded, Aspöck Systems crowned themselves as a worthy inaugural champion at the Raiffeisen Arena. After a flawless group stage, the team of owner and CEO Karl Aspöck advanced to the semifinals. There, former LASK player Davorin Kablar and his teammates triumphed 6-0 over Energie AG. In the grand final, goals from Sinan Ramovic (2), Johannes Korntner, and Strahinja Macanovic ensured that Molto Luce had no chance. "I am absolutely thrilled. We played brilliantly, and I want to thank LASK for this fantastic event. Also, thanks to all the fans, sponsors, and our amazing team," beamed Aspöck Systems' CEO.

Molto Luce also advanced to the semifinals unbeaten, with former Athletiker Wolfgang Klapf and Florian Templ, who showcased new qualities as a goalkeeper, playing key roles. The team's top scorer, Gratiel Stinglmayr, netted an impressive nine goals. The podium was completed by LINZ AG, who won a penalty shootout against Energie AG. The top three teams received a trophy and an invitation to the LASK Cup semifinal at the Raiffeisen Arena against Wolfsberger AC. The Supporter Award for the largest fan base went to Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ, ahead of backaldrin and Aspöck Systems.

The first goal at the Upper Austria Business Cup was also scored by a player from Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ: In the opening game and bank derby against HYPO OÖ, Mathias Lasselsberger put his team 1-0 up after just four minutes. The scorer only learned the day before of his late inclusion due to a last-minute injury. "It's incredible, scoring a goal in front of such a crowd doesn't happen every day," Lasselsberger celebrated.

Charitable cause was at the forefront

The event, which was a resounding success, was not only about sports. The main focus was on the charitable cause: the entire proceeds from the event will be donated to the OÖ. Children’s Cancer Aid, represented by Christiane Mundl (Chairwoman of Ottensheim), who was also present. "The charitable purpose of the event is a matter close to our hearts. With the proceeds, which will fully benefit the OÖ. Children’s Cancer Aid, we take on social responsibility and can support families during a difficult phase of life," said LASK CEO Dr. Siegmund Gruber.

Governor Stelzer as Patron

During the opening ceremony, CEO Gruber extended a special thank you to Governor Mag. Thomas Stelzer for his patronage and to Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ COO Mag. Stefan Sandberger, who came up with the idea for the Upper Austria Business Cup. "The Upper Austria Business Cup is also a new platform to get to know each other better and to network. Because football connects," said Governor Stelzer.

The employees of the ten participating teams will likely remember this football Saturday for a long time. Changing in the locker rooms, LASK jerseys for all companies, their own goal anthems, joint warm-ups, exclusive stadium tours between matches, and catered meals at the Dunkelschwarz restaurant—on this day, the participants stepped into the shoes of professional players. "With this special tournament, we want to offer the board members and employees of our partners and sponsors an exceptional matchday experience," explained CEO Gruber, outlining the event’s intent.
