Serious incidents involving some members of the fan scene occurred during the Bundesliga away game of LASK on April 7, 2024, against SK Sturm Graz. Objects thrown onto the field, endangering several individuals, and a provoked game interruption leave the club with no choice but to take action against it.

The damaging behavior that occurred includes:

  • Throwing laundry detergent tabs onto the field in Graz
  • Violation of the stadium ban regulations
  • Causing a several-minute game interruption
  • Endangering several individuals, including stewards, in the vicinity of the away section
  • Illegal dumping of washing machines at the Raiffeisen Arena stadium premises
  • Massive defacement of the entrance area of the headquarters of Leading Partner BWT a few weeks earlier

Safety is of utmost importance

It's important that the club responds appropriately to such incidents and makes it clear that such behavior is unacceptable. Imposing house and stadium bans on the individuals involved sends a clear message that the club does not tolerate such actions and will take firm action against violations.

By emphasizing its position as a family-oriented club and its commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable stadium experience, LASK demonstrates that the safety and well-being of fans are top priorities. It's also important for the club to actively defend its values and fan culture, ensuring that such incidents do not shape the club's image.

The condemnation of the incidents by the club and the enforcement of sanctions are important steps in guiding fan behavior and ensuring that future matches take place in a positive and safe atmosphere.

Protecting stadium visitors

It's unfortunate that the "Landstrassler" group has planned a boycott of support throughout the entire match during the home game against RB Salzburg. The club regrets this decision, especially during such a crucial phase of the season where the team needs all the support it can get. However, the LASK sees the sanctions as necessary to protect the values of the club and the safety of all stadium visitors, particularly families and children.

Additionally, the LASK will not allow the actions of a minority to dominate the majority. It's essential to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the stadium for all fans, and the club is committed to ensuring that such values are upheld.
