Manchester City Defender joins LASK
LASK has secured their seventh new signing of the summer transfer window. Left-back Tomas Galvez joins the club on a one-year loan. The 19-year-old left-footer is under contract with the English top club Manchester City until 2028, where he recently made his professional debut under coach Pep Guardiola.
In the summer of 2021, Galvez moved from the youth academy of FC Watford to Manchester City, where he signed a professional contract in 2022. He was recently part of Pep Guardiola's first-team squad during the club's pre-season tour of the USA. During this tour, the young player made his professional debut in a 4-2 victory over Chelsea in Ohio, playing in front of more than 71,000 spectators after being substituted in at halftime.
The London-born player, who also holds Finnish citizenship, has appeared for Manchester City's U18 and U21 teams in recent years. Last season, the left-back played 18 matches in the Premier League 2, even captaining the side once. Additionally, Galvez has made 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
Having progressed through all of Finland's youth national teams, the defender made his debut for Finland's senior team in January 2023. He has since earned two more caps, including appearances in the Euro 2024 qualifiers and a friendly against Scotland in June 2024. In the upcoming season, Galvez will strengthen LASK on loan, wearing the number three jersey.
