LASK with Positive Opening Record

Since their return to the Bundesliga in 2017, LASK has generally enjoyed successful season openers. In seven games, they've achieved five wins, one draw, and only one loss. The overall record is also positive: in 33 opening matches, the Athletiker have won 16 times, with seven draws and ten losses, scoring 50 goals and conceding 39.

Particularly at home, the Linz-based team has provided their fans with mostly enjoyable starts. They have won 13 of 19 home games, losing only once. On the road, they have secured three full victories, most recently a 1-0 win against Altach in 2021.

LASK has most frequently faced Austria Wien and Austria Klagenfurt (including Austria Kärnten) in the first round of the Bundesliga. Against Austria Wien, they've recorded two wins and three losses, while four of the five encounters with the Carinthian teams ended in victory for LASK.

On Saturday, LASK will face TSV Hartberg for the 30th time, marking their first encounter on the opening day of the season. After approximately six weeks of preparation and a successful 3-0 Cup opener against Union Gurten last Friday, the team is eagerly anticipating the new season. "We have conceded few goals and consistently found good solutions in attack. Overall, we have shown good performances in the preparation phase," said captain Robert Zulj at the recent Bundesliga kickoff press conference, emphasizing the need to be fully prepared on the pitch.

Last season, LASK finished in the top three of the Bundesliga for the sixth time since the league's inception. This season, the focus is on delivering strong performances and continuing to develop as a team. "We want to win as many games as possible and play the best football we can," explained head coach Thomas Darazs.
