LASK will kick off the new season of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga with an away game against TSV Hartberg. The Athletiker will visit the fifth-place finishers from the previous year in East Styria in the first round on Saturday (5:00 PM, live on Sky Sport Austria).

The wait is over: more than six weeks after starting training in mid-June, LASK is set for their first league match of the new season. After weeks of intense preparation and meticulous work, the Black-Whites aim to get off to a strong start in Hartberg. The team has already shown good form, winning 3-0 in the ÖFB Cup against Union Gurten.

The Styrians also made an impressive start in their first official match, defeating Bischofshofen from the Regionalliga with an 11-1 victory. Hartberg is entering their seventh consecutive year in the top division, having finished last season in fifth place.

Four Out of Five Wins Achieved Away

LASK's recent visit to East Styria brings back positive memories for the team. On Matchday 28 of the previous season, the Linzers secured a last-minute victory, with the winning goal scored in the 93rd minute for a 2-1 triumph. The 2023/24 season record was balanced, with one win, two draws, and one loss. This balance is also reflected in their overall top-flight statistics: five wins - four of which were away - eight draws, and five losses.

The record of opening games in recent years is promising. Since their promotion in 2017, LASK has remained unbeaten in their opening matches, winning five out of seven, with one draw. The Athletiker have not lost a season opener in the last five seasons.

Tickets for the first home games

We will need a very focused performance against Hartberg. We can't afford any unnecessary turnovers and must be extremely alert during set pieces. Then I think we can take something from Hartberg, although I expect a very strong opponent.
