LASK presents the sixth new signing of the summer transfer window. Tomas Tavares, a 23-year-old full-back from Portugal, joins the team on a one-year loan. The 1.82 m tall right-footed player was most recently with Spartak Moscow for one and a half years.

Tavares received his training at the top Portuguese club Benfica Lisbon, where he made his professional debut in the UEFA Champions League against RB Leipzig in September 2019. Overall, he appeared five times in the Champions League and twice in the Europa League for the record champions of Portugal. In the following years, the Lisbon native was loaned out to Deportivo Alaves, SC Farense, and FC Basel. In January 2023, he transferred to Spartak Moscow, where he made 22 appearances over the past one and a half years for the fifth-placed team of the previous season.

The 23-year-old was also a regular member of the Portuguese youth national teams, earning nine caps for the U21 team. Tavares has now signed a loan contract with LASK until June 30, 2025.

We wanted to strengthen our full-back position and are very pleased that we have achieved this with the signing of Tomas Tavares. He brings exactly what we were looking for and is a top-trained player who has already proven his skills in European competitions. We are convinced that Tomas will further increase the quality of the team.
