LASK Faces Voitsberg in Cup Round of 16

Eleven Bundesliga clubs and five second-division teams remain in the race for the coveted trophy, which will find its new owner in the final on May 1. In the Round of 16, LASK, after victories over regional league teams Union Gurten (3-0) and Sportunion Mauer (4-0), will face second-division newcomer ASK Voitsberg. The match will take place on October 29/30/31, with the exact date to be announced shortly.

This marks LASK's eleventh consecutive appearance in the Cup Round of 16, and in the past six years, the Linz-based team has reached the quarterfinals each time. Their upcoming opponent from Styria advanced with a 3-0 win at SV Donau in the first round, followed by a 2-0 victory at Kapfenberger SV.

The two clubs have met twice before in the ÖFB Cup. In the second round in August 1986, LASK won 3-1, and four years later, they triumphed again in the same round with a 2-0 victory.
