LASK secured an important 2-1 away victory in the 20th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga against SK Austria Klagenfurt. After an early deficit, Valon Berisha (14') and Maximilian Entrup (61') turned the game around in favor of the Athletiker, who maintained their spot in the top six and remained unbeaten against the Carinthians.

The match began with a shock for the Athletiker. Solomon Bonnah attempted a cross from the right after a diagonal switch, but his mishit delivery unexpectedly dipped over Tobias Lawal and into the net (3'). However, LASK, with captain Philipp Ziereis back in the starting lineup, was unfazed by the early setback and immediately took control.

After six minutes, Samuel Adeniran had the first attempt on goal, and just eight minutes later, the ball found its way into Klagenfurt’s net for the first time. Valon Berisha took a chance from just over 16 meters out and curled a stunning left-footed strike into the top right corner (14')—his third goal of the season.

Buoyed by the equalizer, LASK remained dominant, quickly shutting down Klagenfurt’s transition play and increasingly settling in the opponent’s half. This pressure led to further chances around the half-hour mark: first, Klagenfurt goalkeeper Simon Spari denied an Adeniran effort, then Philipp Ziereis headed just wide from a Sascha Horvath corner. Maximilian Entrup also missed the target after a Jovicic cross (33').

With a personnel change, LASK started the second half as Krystof Danek replaced Christoph Lang, who remained in the dressing room. While Ivan Ljubic tried his luck with a long-range effort for LASK, Klagenfurt had their first big chance through Ben Bobzien on the other end, but his shot went just wide of the far post (51’). Ten minutes later, the comeback was complete: Adeniran powered through on the left half-space and spotted his strike partner Entrup in the middle, who only had to tap the ball in—his seventh goal of the season!

That assist marked Adeniran’s final contribution of the match, as he made way for Florian Flecker, who got his first appearance of the spring. With the scoreline in their favor, Klagenfurt tried to push forward, but LASK once again showed defensive solidity, as they had in previous weeks, allowing almost no clear chances. The only real opportunity for the hosts came late in the game, but David Toshevski failed to capitalize. With this win, LASK remained unbeaten in their 23rd encounter with Klagenfurt and stayed on course for the championship group, holding a one-point lead over Blau-Weiß Linz.

It was the tough match we expected, made even more challenging by the early setback. It was crucial for our game that we rewarded ourselves for our efforts early on. After the equalizer, we had a lot of control both in possession and defensively. In the second half, we could have decided the game earlier. I believe we are developing in a really exciting way, and now we want to take as many points as possible from the last two games.
