LASK and WAC battle for spot in ÖFB Cup Final
After their triumph over RB Salzburg, LASK's semifinal opponent in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup has now been determined. As the draw on Friday evening revealed, the Athletiker will face Wolfsberger AC on April 2 at 6:15 PM (live on ORF1) in front of their home crowd at the Raiffeisen Arena.
For the fifth time in the past seven years and the 15th time overall, LASK has reached the ÖFB Cup semifinals. Now, the team from Linz has the opportunity to advance to the cup final for the seventh time in club history.
Standing in their way on Wednesday, April 2, at 6:15 PM is Wolfsberger AC. The Carinthians secured their spot in the semifinals with a 7-0 win over ASV Draßburg, a 2-0 victory against SPG Wallern/St. Marienkirchen, a penalty shootout triumph over Austria Klagenfurt in the Round of 16, and a home win against SW Bregenz.
Before their victory over Salzburg, LASK defeated Regionalliga sides Union Gurten (3:0) and Sportunion Mauer (4:0), as well as second-division club ASK Voitsberg (2:1). The two clubs have met once before in the ÖFB Cup, with LASK winning their 2021 semifinal clash 1-0 after extra time. Ticket presale information will be announced soon on our channels.
