For the first time, the UEFA Conference League will take place under a new format. During the draw in Monaco, LASK's six opponents for the league phase this fall were determined. Among them, the team will travel to face last year's finalists, AC Fiorentina.

Following Friday afternoon's draw in Monaco, LASK, who were drawn from Pot 1, now know their six opponents for the new league phase of the UEFA Conference League, which will take place from October to December. In their home Raiffeisen Arena, LASK will face Djurgardens IF, Cercle Brugge, and Vikingur Reykjavik, while their away matches will be against AC Fiorentina, Olimpija Ljubljana, and FK Borac. The top eight teams will automatically qualify for the Round of 16, while the teams finishing between ninth and 24th place will compete in a playoff for progression.

Out of these six teams, LASK has only played a competitive match against one before. They faced the twelve-time Swedish champions Djurgardens IF in the group stage of the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1996, winning 2-0 thanks to two goals from Christoph Westerthaler. The most prominent name in the group is AC Fiorentina, the two-time Italian champions and six-time cup winners, who reached the final of last season's Conference League.

The other opponents also boast some silverware: Cercle Brugge has won the Belgian championship three times, Reykjavik has claimed the Icelandic title seven times, Ljubljana is a seven-time champion in Slovenia, and Borac secured their third league title in Bosnia and Herzegovina last season.

With Fiorentina, we've drawn a really attractive opponent. Besides their rich tradition, they reached the final last year, so it will be a very interesting match—I've always wanted to play there. Cercle Brugge is also very familiar to me and is undoubtedly the toughest draw from Pot 4. We will do everything we can to represent LASK with pride.
