Last Saturday, LASK looked back on a thoroughly successful football afternoon. The 4-2 victory over GAK in front of 13,000 spectators at the Raiffeisen Arena made the fans' hearts beat faster, as did the accompanying Oktoberfest-themed entertainment in the fan zone.

For the first time this season, Linz scored four goals in a single game, undeterred even by the temporary equalizer from the newly promoted team on their way to their first home win. It was a balm for the soul after the challenging weeks prior, as Markus Schopp emphasized following his home debut as LASK's head coach.

'I'm glad that we rewarded ourselves with three points today. Everyone knows how difficult the situation was before the match. The team executed much of what we had planned from the start. The key was that we were much more determined in the final third,' the 50-year-old highlighted, pointing to the significantly increased chance creation, reflected in the season's highest xG value of 2.64. 'We really had each other’s backs today and gave it our all from start to finish,' added Valon Berisha, who scored his first Bundesliga goal for LASK.

After the 4-2 victory, the Athletiker were able to celebrate together with the fans.

"Outstanding atmosphere"

On the path to victory, the substitutes also delivered crucial impact. Filip Stojković assisted Marin Ljubičić’s 3-2 goal, while Maximilian Entrup, making his debut for LASK, also contributed with an assist. 'The substitutions brought fresh energy onto the pitch, and we deservedly scored the goals,' said Schopp, acknowledging that much work remains. 'It’s important to take the right lessons and not assume everything is fine. The team needed this success, but I believe we still have a lot of work ahead to get LASK where we want it to be.'

Schopp was particularly impressed by the atmosphere in the Raiffeisen Arena. 'It was outstanding. Despite not winning in five games, I felt that the fans supported us from the very beginning. When we talk about our slogan, "Together we are LASK," this was one of those moments where we needed everyone. Together, it’s possible; alone, it’s difficult. It was an important signal for the players to know they have that support.'

Vibrant atmosphere in the fan zone

There was also a vibrant atmosphere in the fan zone, where numerous visitors tried their luck at various stations under sunny skies, fully enjoying the Oktoberfest-themed entertainment. Accompanied by the musical sounds of the Zipfer brass band, many participants showcased their talents in activities like stein sliding and beer stein holding.

The Zipfer can shooting, Raiffeisen soccer darts, BWT sit & kick, and the backaldrin target shooting wall were all equally popular, as was the culinary offering of Weißwurstleberkäse, Bauernkrapfen, and Zupfmohnnudeln. The appearance of LASK player Lenny Pintor, who eagerly signed autographs, capped off a successful afternoon in the fan zone, which proved to be the perfect meeting spot for fans, families, and children.

The fan zone was immensely popular on Saturday.
